Project Name: Trailing Edge

Project Description: Trailing Edge is a web site that allows you to enter in part numbers that you want to track and it will send you notices when revisions are made  or when the part goes obsolete. It will also inform you if there is a fit/form/function replacement.

The site will make money off of the companies that want to have their parts listed and will feature tracking of errata and family upgrades.

When I'm not making up new company ideas here I'm arguing engineering at CR4: The Engineers Place for News and Discussion as The Feature Creep.

Argeee.... I know GIGO. I tend to rely on my spell checker to much.

Here is an invention for you, on that does what I mean, not what I tell it to do.

LOL... sorry about that! It was a serious question, though. I was wondering if you had invented a new word: "Trialing." Could mean something in the clinical research space... as in drug "trials."

As a general question:

I am pretty astounded by the number of ideas you've posted on here. Have you ever attempted to implement one of these projects?

If I'm involved its a save bet that there will be no drug type companies.

Believe it or not these are my B-grade ideas. I keep the 2-3 A grade ideas for myself. And yes I am working on them all the time until I have one jump out at me as an A+. I have good ties to Warburg Pincus and you only get one shot at impressing people like that.

Actually the fact point of this forum is that a good idea (and most of these I like to think of as being good ideas) are nothing without the skills to implement them. I am missing some core competency from all the ideas I post here.

Trailing Edge...I thought you were referring to someone walking behind U2's guitarist.

Cheers!

Sounds like you need to team up with the right partner(s).

Many will get an idea and jump right in without realizing what it takes to build a successful business. Sounds like you have your head screwed on straight in this respect as you're patiently waiting for both the right opportunity and team/skill set.
